Working

  • Dubai’s job market is diverse; strong demand in technology, finance, healthcare, tourism, and construction
  • Salaries often higher than in Europe; many positions are tax-free
  • Typical workweek: Sunday to Thursday, 40–48 hours per week
  • Networking and personal contacts are crucial; many jobs filled through referrals
  • Applications should include a photo and personal details (local style)
  • Significant shortage of skilled professionals, particularly in IT, engineering, and medicine
  • Expats receive no social benefits (statutory pensions or health insurance); must organize own coverage

  • Differences exist between other emirates and abroad regarding cost of living, legal frameworks, and tax advantages

Safety

Dubai is considered one of the safest cities in the world, with extremely low crime rates and modern infrastructure. Public displays of affection (kissing, hugging) are prohibited and should be avoided.

Climate

Dubai enjoys sunny and warm weather throughout the year. However, during summer (May to October), extreme heat significantly limits outdoor activities.
